The "No Kings" rally I attended was full of peaceful, fun-loving and like-minded people. The only Communists, Marxists and Antifa people I was aware of were in the nightmares of some Republicans. There was a small counter protest by Trump supporters who had a better sound system than ours, but we persevered.

There were about 1,500 people at our rally. They had 15, including someone in a George Washington costume. I think George was rolling over.

The rally in pictures.

  1. So good you attended. I fractured my hip in July, so am still on the mend or would have been @ the rally in Milwaukee, too. BUT my DD and her friends went and it was peaceful.

And for sure, George would definitely be rolling over in his grave.

Glad you were able to go. And that it was peaceful . . . AND that the ‘other side’ only had 15 representing them. Hmmmmmm.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. I LOVE your sign. Nothing like quoting the founding fathers to bring home the point!

Sadly, our protest was not completely without incident, although I didn't find out about it until this morning. Apparently four young men got in the face of a protesting lady who had brought a taser along (probably scared by all the news coverage) and she brandished it at them when they got a bit "too much" for her. She was arrested for "menacing".

Considering that the majority of my state is "ruby red" Trump country, I was pleased that they pretty much left us purported "terrorists" alone (except for a few like those young men in the aforementioned story). I did read a whole bunch of disparaging comments to news articles about the crowd size. I'm not good about estimating crowds but it certainly would not have filled any of our sports arenas. Still, it was a lot of people for a protest, and many, like myself, only stayed a short while, and were replaced by others who drifted in later.
