My once in a while post. Happy Thanksgiving!
I am grateful for all of you.
I am grateful that the Christmas cactus, once a twig of three leaves that fell off my dad's plant in 2001, has decided to bloom early for me on one side. There are small buds on the other side of the plant.
I'm also grateful this chest was built by my dad. It holds half my hoard of yarn.
I am grateful for a full table. I cooked and we joked about the "meals on wheels" I delivered to DD2's house where the four (five) of us had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving.
No, it wasn't his plate. It was opportunistic jumping onto an emptied chair.
And speaking of chairs.
Behind this you can see the other hoard of yarn. The new chair is for the recovery of a new hip, planned for late February. It was a very short and quick run of "why does my hip hurt?" back in July to "oh, that's why" last month when the doctor told me it is bone on bone! I am helped by keeping in shape and going to the gym for strength training several times a week. No worries. I've been reassured, and look forward to this done.
Otherwise, many things are happening, life is moving at lightening pace and suddenly it's almost 2026!

Funny how time keeps moving faster for us, isn't it? Little fella looks right at home, there, but well-mannered, not going for the plate! Did you catch that Laura posted a blog for Thanksgiving day, too?
ReplyDeleteOhhhh you'll be very glad to have that chair post op. Had a fractured hip in July. Spent 4 weeks sleeping in the recliner. It saved me. Good luck w/your surgery and recovery. You are wise to get in the best possible shape pre- surgery.
ReplyDeleteThat Christmas cactus is gorgeous!
hugs and happy holidays.
