It's Happening! The 250th Anniversary events are in full swing.

I love where I live. There is so much history here. Yes, I'm going to try and go. Lucky me I pass the commemoration memorial every time I go to DD1's house. My routes around the area are all Revolutionary. I sometimes search for buttons and musket balls.

    I am both a bit jealous of the events, and nostalgic over the thought of searching for relics of the revolution. Reminds me of my ex's tales of his boyhood tramping around the Trenton area!

    I’ve been watching the Ken Burns American Revolution documentary out-of-order on PBS… Need to revisit the East coast! Didn’t get nearly enough time to explore Boston & the Freedom Trail

 My once in a while post. Happy Thanksgiving! I am grateful for all of you. I am grateful that the Christmas cactus, once a twig of three leaves that fell off my dad's plant in 2001, has decided to bloom early for me on one side. There are small buds on the other side of the plant. I'm also grateful this chest was built by my dad. It holds half my hoard of yarn. I am grateful for a full table. I cooked and we joked about the "meals on wheels" I delivered to DD2's house where the four (five) of us had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving. No, it wasn't his plate. It was opportunistic jumping onto an emptied chair. And speaking of chairs. Behind this you can see the other hoard of yarn. The new chair is for the recovery of a new hip, planned for late February.  The "No Kings" rally I attended was full of peaceful, fun-loving and like-minded people. The only Communists, Marxists and Antifa people I was aware of were in the nightmares of some Republicans. There was a small counter protest by Trump supporters who had a better sound system than ours, but we persevered.  There were about 1,500 people at our rally. They had 15, including someone in a George Washington costume. I think George was rolling over. The rally in pictures.

 You get a twofer. I went to a concert tonight with DD2. We both love jazz. This particular concert was awesome. It featured the Béla Fleck, Edmar Castañeda, Antonio Sánchez Trio.
