So, we're getting back to normal.

DH got an almost clean bill of health from the neurosurgeon. He has to wait a month before doing anything manly, but is allowed to drive and vacuum.

I un-froze my gym membership and was back exercising in the pool yesterday. I am sore today and it has nothing to do with my hip! My muscles are a good sore.

Life is good.

 My once in a while post. Happy Thanksgiving! I am grateful for all of you. I am grateful that the Christmas cactus, once a twig of three leaves that fell off my dad's plant in 2001, has decided to bloom early for me on one side. There are small buds on the other side of the plant. I'm also grateful this chest was built by my dad. It holds half my hoard of yarn. I am grateful for a full table.  The "No Kings" rally I attended was full of peaceful, fun-loving and like-minded people. The only Communists, Marxists and Antifa people I was aware of were in the nightmares of some Republicans. There was a small counter protest by Trump supporters who had a better sound system than ours, but we persevered.  There were about 1,500 people at our rally. They had 15, including someone in a George Washington costume. I think George was rolling over. The rally in pictures.

 It's raining, it's pouring, my old man is snoring! I am living a new normal.  Oh, wait, this has been my life for quite a while! After my hip surgery, an awesome adventure to which I have recovered in an amazing way, my DH insisted I slow down. Ha. He finally got an active call for the job he's been on for a while; sitting in a car by live wires brought down by disasters. Think ice, snow, tornadoes. It's easy for him as all he has to do is yell "get away from there" until the utilities fix the wires. What he didn't do was drink enough, sleep, take his meds (none). He passed out, landed on his head and received a TBI. Subdural hematoma and multiple hemorrhages throughout his brain. Lucky us, he has no deficits, a headache, 6 staples in the split in his scalp and a lumbar spinal injury that will heal with PT. I had to drive 6 hours to the trauma hospital, sit in it for three days with my elder daughter in tow, and bring him home 3 days after his injury. Ano...
