 Dear (Blogger) Diary, It's New Year's eve! I've not utilized you like I expected since joining after the demise of Spark People. I still may not but for now, here goes. I was struck today by a comment on 'This Old House'. The Victorian house was painted a multitude of colors; blue tone on another blue for the main surfaces, a white trim, and with a reddish-brown paint accent on the stain glassed door and on the little do-dads on the trim. A gentleman said they cut back on the colors because driving by at 25 mph, you can't see them all.  Just like my sandwich. It had a roll, roast beef and swiss cheese. Lettuce. Onion. Tomato. Oregano. Salt. Pepper. Mayo. Hot sauce. Pickle juice. Ketchup. (homemade pseudo-thousand island dressing) What did I taste? Bread, hot sauce, oregano, onion. What was the purpose of this sandwich? To nourish my body and, sort of, my soul. I'm not sure it did that. My sandwich was about 550 calories, 46 carbs and 30 grams of fat.  I cou

 Ho, ho, ho, a few days to go! Things have been busy here in the OJ household. We 'peopled' (using OKM's term) last weekend at the 10 month delayed wedding celebration/now baby shower of my niece at a winery. I had my 2 glasses of white wine, a bit of supper and was nicely done. There were relatives I'd not seen in about 10 years including my brother's ex-wife and one of his kids. We all got along. Last night we attended the middle school concert of my eldest grandchild, a trombone player. My DH and I had fond memories of his mother's concerts. It was enjoyable!  Tomorrow is the family Christmas party which will be the last in our rented cabin. The littles have all grown past hide and seek in the rooms screaming while running up and down stairs, slide-diving on wooden floors or throwing things at us from the loft. It's time to move on to a restaurant and a shorter party. Additionally there are so many kids involved in sports that there is going to be a revol
