Something nice, Happy Birthday Ruth! To you who have heard all about her, here's Ruth. If this is what 100 looks like, I'll take it. Her 96 yo sister is on her right (our left). What a nice time and family at her party today. I guess we are adopted in as we've been neighbors for 40 years. She was a neurology research scientist, Dr. to people in the university, but to me she's just the lady I share the love of science with. I had been reading articles from high level publications with her before COVID. We still enjoy scientific discussion but politics take over after a while. All I have to do is mention the 'T" word and she'll go off! Kinda funny. She's a Dem. thru and thru. I love her almost like a mom; but without the scolding!

I'm a bit sheepish as I haven't posted the results of my new carpeting and painting. I was darned tired!  I was so worn out I lost my mind. Well, actually, I only lost: my house keys; left them on the counter for the first time ever but luckily DH had his own set on him.  Car keys, ditto with first time; found them in the hamper after 3 days. A bag with 2 sweet onions I bought at the store on Wednesday. They are on the bill but not in my house. Not in my car either! I also forgot to take all my medication in the morning two days in a row. That's NOT a good thing.  The last time I had issues like this was when DH was so ill. Tells you how hard I was working. On top of everything else, DH DID get ill last week which is maybe why my mind was elsewhere. We are all on the way to recovery, sort of. While putting odds and ends back in place I dropped an old-fashioned, teacher's stapler on my foot; two bruised toes and a bit more. Last night the screen door beat me to the trim

If one picture is worth a thousand words, here's 3,000 I heard the pitter patter of tiny hooves last night, not on my roof, but on my cement patio. I tried my best to protect my plants but to no avail.  I may or may not get butternut squash from this plant. There are multiple potential female buds and if they get a chance to mature and be fertilized by the surprising abundance of bees I have this year, perhaps they will grow. Sigh, the zucchini. In the background, right, is what's left of a zucchini she ate half. There are more underneath but it's questionable they will have enough nourishment without leaves. Finally, I spiced up the garden to send a picture to DH when he was at a meeting. Made him laugh. She is fearless and probably running out of food. I'll let it go this year, but next time I will have created a new garden that will be enclosed and unavailable to my nemesis.
