I interupt the photo journal of my 10 state trip to bring you my walk along the D&R Canal on Wednesday. I've connected with a friend from the past who also likes to walk so we'll try to meet often. The good walk was followed by a lunch that counterbalanced the exercise! Mostly it was good for my soul. This was my first time on this section and I found many new things to view yet the overall feeling was familiarity. Here are the pictures with little comentary. This lock is strictly for hydro control. The original pass-through locks are long gone although the surrounding ground contains imprints of the working mechanisms. This spillway may be original (1850) and it's still used. The dam that creates Carnege Lake, used by the Princeton row team and other boaters. The view across Carnege Lake. I travel behind those trees almost daily. This was my first time on the 'other side.' Hope you enjoyed my walk!

I'm back, there's more to my trip! It was a long venture. Where was I, oh yes, leaving Huntsville Alabama. We drove to the  Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park hoping to see some sights. I'd been there before. Unfortunately, it was raining cats and dogs. We hiked aroud the park anyway, got a soaking and still saw some great, misty views. I did not take a single picture, but here's one from my 2013 trip. These rocks were still there, LOL! Our idea of a fun evening was to take a cruise on the Tennesse River from Chattanooga. It was a bust. Warm but still rainy, we couldn't sit outside to enjoy the views. Quite frankly, there was not much to see on this trip. We've been on others that have had good narration, this had none. Clearly, it was not what we expected. We found an Italian restaurant and enjoyed a great dinner and a view of the city from a cliff, a better experience. Our next stop was a cabin in the Smoky Moutain National Park area in Pige

I thought you could use a bit of distraction right now. I know I could. Our next stop on our road trip was the National Corvette Museum. I'm more of a Ford woman, myself, although I'd driven a 'vette "back in the day."  This odd view is all you'll see now from the original cave collapse that swallowed up 8 fancy cars in 2014.  https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/02/12/corvette-museum-sinkhole/5417171/ After a few years of display, they found the hole took up too much real estate and covered it over, leaving an access for annual investigation of the cave system underground. In front of my feet is a view of the yellow ladder and the 15 foot climb below.  There were plenty of cool cars including this. There was the rather infamous car Michael Keaton used in the original Batman, and some cute guy. Our next stop was Nashville. I had no real plans there except to sit in at least one 'honky-tonk' and listen to a band. We did, the band was great a

I know, I know. I'm getting slow at posting trip info. As a matter of fact, I haven't printed my photo books from my 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 trips. I've a photo book from every trip taken since 2002. Sometimes twice a year if we made smaller trips. My priorities have changed, I guess.  Well, now...our first stops. Americana in Bedford PA. once made the list as the world's biggest coffee pot. The handle is on the other side. My SIL and BIL as models. We traveled to Jeffersonville, Indiana in search of other oddities.  The Colgate Clock is one of the largest clocks in the world. It works. We visited  Schimpff's Confectionery,  since 1891,  one of the oldest, continuously operated, family-owned candy businesses in the United States. It was exactly as advertised. Best chocolate I've ever had! The Big Four Bridge is a local favorite as a walkway to Louisville Kentucky. We enjoyed it at night after a nice dinner on the river in Jeffersonville. My favorite in Indiana w
