Time for some updates.

I finished painting 1/2 of what I need to. It took me two weeks and now I'm working on the living room. I'm also patching old cracks or dings. I will never have to paint this again!

Oh, deer! The doe visited again last night. Funny how DH and I wake up sensing a "change in the force", but always too late! She ate the tops off half my beets, some green beans in the background and more zucchini leaves than I expected (they are spiny).

My grands were over yesterday after we took them to lunch. These two built Washington DC out of kitchen cups and oddities. A portable mini fan kept the flag blowing on the Capitol made of plastic candles. Tissue box was Union Station, the pole for my skylight was the train track and a skein of yarn was a train. The Washington monument is the pink cup. Oh, to be imaginative again!

Grand dog Chewy from DD2's family sent his hellos.

Here's the entire family of grands while they waited for their ride to the airport back from their week in Orlando. Despite GS 2 breaking his toe 2 days before vacation, and being in a boot to his knee and sometimes wheelchair-bound, they had a great time.

To those of you who remember 2 of the births, GS1 turns 13 this fall, GS 2 will be 10 next month and little miss is now 7! That perfect smile on the right belongs to my first-born. I'd be remiss if I didn't point out SIL1, the bearded one.

My honey and I are doing just fine.

  1. Awesome update! I see a family resemblance in D1's smile! And OMG, those kids! Funny how while we haven't grown any "older", they have grown up!

They are so clever, too... love their model of DC!

  2. The thought of never painting again is a good one in my opinion.

Your beet biters are back. Most of our plants are covered now. They will have to eat netting to get to them.

You gotta love kids whose idea of fun is recreating the Capital. I was into geography, culture, anthropology, maps. I have met a few others who are. It has helped to some extent as hubby is always lost and I seldom am.

Your screen room is so perfect and clean. Makes me want to try harder to get control here.

All of your family, including Chewy, are as cute as ever. To be young again............

So glad to hear you and hubby are doing well. We are hanging in there.

    1. I was thinking to get one of those motion sensor Halloween decorations to scare the deer away...

    2. Good idea. Hubby was thinking of making a motion detector that sprays water.
