Something nice, Happy Birthday Ruth!

To you who have heard all about her, here's Ruth.

If this is what 100 looks like, I'll take it. Her 96 yo sister is on her right (our left). What a nice time and family at her party today. I guess we are adopted in as we've been neighbors for 40 years.

She was a neurology research scientist, Dr. to people in the university, but to me she's just the lady I share the love of science with. I had been reading articles from high level publications with her before COVID. We still enjoy scientific discussion but politics take over after a while. All I have to do is mention the 'T" word and she'll go off! Kinda funny. She's a Dem. thru and thru.

I love her almost like a mom; but without the scolding!

  1. Happy Birthday, Ruth! What a wonderful celebration of life well-lived. That pesky T word is a double ended trigger! It triggers those for and those against!

  2. I forgot to mention...on Saturday her family took her to Brighton Beach to swim in the ocean! She had a blast.

  3. I have never known a Ruth I didn't LOVE. We all know the story of Ruth and Naomi from the Bible. I have had both Ruths and Naomis in my life and all were a blessing to me. My Aunt Naomi helped me through the loss of my mom and then grandma. She was unique and quirky. Very outspoken and was a minister who was into using crystals, which I like. One of my favorite Ruths lived next door to me and my first husband. She was also unique. A nurse like me. We worked together. Totally fun. Adventurous like you. Went to Alaska with her first husband who was one of the most handsome men I have ever met. They ended up divorced and she came back here and remarried and got cancer and died. No one could ever replace her. She was one of a kind like you. My other main Ruth is Benny's and my Godmother. She was my MIL's neighbor and best friend. She is 97 maybe. Sweet as can be and fun and funny. She is "hot orange tea and homemade lemon cookies". Totally love her too. I love your Ruth. She sounds perfect to me. Back when I wanted to major in science I was the only girl in my college physics class so your Ruth is very unique. And as far as the "T" word I TOTALLY agree with her. Nothing worse than the "T" or "N", though there are other letters on the Dem side which are almost as bad. There are good men on both sides so if one is not totally entrenched on one side than choose one of the moral ones. I'm tired of dishonest whore-mongers. On both sides.

  6. Happy Belated Birthday Ruth!!! I was concerned that MY mom was not going to gain friends or influence neighbors by complaining about the fact that Mr "T" has avoided imprisonment for his many many crimes & misdeeds, but thankfully she found sympathetic ears at the dinner table the other night...
