On the road again...

Very soon my crew and I will be taking off for a drive around mid-east America. In my sights are Louisville, KY, Nashville, TN and Huntsville AL. OKM, I'm going to Space Camp, at least where Space Camp is! The NASA complex is on our list of museums and what not. Throw in almost a week in the Smokey Mountains and our trip will be complete.

But wait, there's more! Some of us are 'fan-girling' our DIY shows and we'll be stopping at a store owned by Mike from American Pickers and my favorite, Barnwood Builders shop in WV to probably buy T-shirts. That'll be all I can afford! I doubt we'll see any of the shows stars, although the time we went to Salvage Dogs (Black Dog Salvage) in Raleigh, I not only met Mike, one of the main men, he and I chatted for a while and he took our selfie.

Note his well-crafted ribbon halo! LOL. My real thrill would be meeting Johnny Jett, but we'll see.

We will finish covering the pool today so I don't have a fall mess to clean when we get home. My garden has just about given up but I'll leave the peppers to do their thing. Sometimes I've had peppers go nuts in the fall and they give me plenty to harvest.

Happy Labor Day.

  2. Sounds like a fun trip. I have traveled part of the road you may be taking a lot if you are going by interstate. It's a beautiful drive. I love Tennessee and upper Alabama. I have never been to Louisville but when I used to go to Florida all the time I went I57 south to I24 in southern Illinois into Paducah, Kentucky and through Kentucky on to Nashville. Then if we were going to the Gulf coast, which I prefer, I take I65 through Alabama , veer off to visit Huntsville for a look-see and then we always spent the night at a motel in Cullman, Alabama. The next day onto Birmingham, Montgomery, and then Rte 331 to the Florida panhandle. My preferred way to go to Florida. I hope you have an awesome time and get to see everything and everyone you want to. The garden here is winding down too. Benny will mourn the loss of his tomatoes. We still have peppers to pick.

  3. Safe and enjoyable travels to you... and oh! Space Camp! Even if you're NOT staying for a session! Awesome. But I also know that those DIY shows are "your thing" and you'll be spending joyful times touring around those!
