I'm back, there's more to my trip! It was a long venture. Where was I, oh yes, leaving Huntsville Alabama.

We drove to the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park hoping to see some sights. I'd been there before. Unfortunately, it was raining cats and dogs. We hiked aroud the park anyway, got a soaking and still saw some great, misty views. I did not take a single picture, but here's one from my 2013 trip. These rocks were still there, LOL!

Our idea of a fun evening was to take a cruise on the Tennesse River from Chattanooga. It was a bust. Warm but still rainy, we couldn't sit outside to enjoy the views. Quite frankly, there was not much to see on this trip.

We've been on others that have had good narration, this had none. Clearly, it was not what we expected.

We found an Italian restaurant and enjoyed a great dinner and a view of the city from a cliff, a better experience.

Our next stop was a cabin in the Smoky Moutain National Park area in Pigeon Forge, TN. I enjoyed the view from the main floor deck.

We walked a trail right behind the visitors center at the park entrance. It had great things to see!

I got a kick out of the stump!

That's all for now, this was only part of our visit to the National Park.

Hope you enjoyed !

  1. I have to admit that stump has personality! And you are looking good, as is your best fella! Too bad no narration on the cruise, but the scenery looks lovely. There's something about getting out and hiking amid nature.

The kids have come and collected Carl. They brought me treats (as they almost always do when I keep him for a while), and I made mugs of the coffee offering to go with the Paul & Pippa biscuits. And those as biscuits in the UK sense. Cacao & Olive Oil it said, and they were so subtle... you taste the chocolate and then there is a bit of a salty aftertaste.

Now just breathing and waiting for the Prisoner to decide it's safe to come back inside!

Take care of you and yours!

  2. Love the picture of DH . . . think his expression sums up your cruise experience. (OY)

The Smokies are gorgeous. Love that tree stump, too!

    Hope all is well.

  3. I love it when I check in and find you have posted!

I thought Chattanooga was an awesome place. So pretty! BUT............my fear of heights freaked me out. I hated the interstate through there - with those out of control semi truck ramps if they still have them. Trucks chugging up the mountain and then flying down. It was sleeting when I drove through it. Vowed to never do that again. I don't understand why the interstate isn't in the valley. There has got to be tons of wrecks and deaths there.

Loved the pictures! The Italian restaurant sounded nice. I have never taken a river cruise but spent a lot of time on the Ohio River on our boat. It's great to see you both looking so healthy.
