Sorry if I haven't responded, the computer gods have put me in Hades for sharing my Google account with my DH when he got his new phone.

Such are the problems I face as technology gets more buggy and we have too many passcodes. Now I have to decide what to do, including do I utilize my alternate email address and upend my entire world?
Then there is the fun of him trying to figure out his new phone. I'm subjected to new noises, pop up music and screeching videos, clicks and clacks. He likes to hear what he's typing.
๐
There were all kinds of 'pings' in the middle of the night. He figured out how to silence a bunch of it but it's a chorus of tones before he figures it out.
At the bedside.
When I've been asleep for a while.
Sometimes he'll stand outside the door and try to silence it. He thinks I won't hear it on the other side of the door.
๐ฌ
How do I do this? What's this for? Why did they change that?
Somehow he signed up for FB but doesn't know how or when. He gets messages from people but can't figure out how to respond. It also means he gets tons of stupid, or interesting, videos.
Loud videos.

Oh, well. He's STILL here for me to complain about.

I'm laughing, BUT... I don't have a DH to blame about the changing technology. I choose to blame my son, who these days, it seems, feels the need to "take care of" my technology needs. When he upgrades his phone, he provides me with a new one because of some two for one sale, and then it's not a DH, it's ME trying to figure out how to put the settings on "do not disturb" overnight!
ReplyDeleteI think the last time I went through this was in 2020 or 2021, so that means it's likely to happen again in the next year or two.
Hang in there. This, too, shall pass, and the mic drop moment is the last line in your post! He's still with you!
OMG, new phones that often? Mine is from maybe 2016. Works fine for me. I AM contemplating getting a new one like his so I can utilize my newfound skills. However, the one feature they removed from Samsung phones was the LED indicator light. I change the color for each type of message so can tell if it's email, text or Whatsapp by the color. It helps prioritize my responses.
DeleteGuess I'm still geekie ;-)
LOLOL How many "Big Construction Machines" or "OSHA Failure" videos are there?
ReplyDeleteOh, there are thousands.
YES! Sometimes we really have to take our blessings where we can get them!

Well, your man is thinking LARGE. Mine is fixated on thinking itty bitty. Arduinos mostly. He is irked that I, a science major, am not totally absorbed in it. He has a retired science teacher friend who works at the library who does enjoy his mad scientist babbling about this stuff. He also knows more about UFOs than NASA.
