It's raining, it's pouring...

My BIL is in the hospital with, of all things, an ear infection. As of today he's been in for 4 days in IVs. It must be a doozy.

My little granddog, Chewy, had a tumor removed from his paw on Tuesday morning; biopsy pending.


LOL, he's got the diva 1990's collar instead of the cone of shame.

His human daddy had his appendix out the next day! Home the same day, now my DD2 is caring for both demanding family members.


DH and I are still well!

    Oh, my goodness! Not just you, but your whole tribe, down to Chewy the grand-doggo! Hope EVERYBODY recovers fully and soon!

    OH my goodness! Hospitalization for an ear infection – indeed it has to be a real whopper! Sending healing vibes.

    And poor Chewy – but I LOVE his little collar. Sure better than any of those Elizabethan hard cones of shame most pups end up with! Prayers all goes well w/the pathology.

    Ok, then your SIL gets in on the act. Wishing a speedy recover for him post appendectomy. Your poor DD! She has her hands full!

    I think hubby and I are "wimpy" enough in the immune department to turn an ear infection into a pus filled brain drain. I'm feeling very vulnerable now after hearing about your BIL. I have lots of ear problems.

    Chewy is adorable. Quite the trend setter. I sent a prayer for him. My Scottie had cancer on a back leg when he was 6 months old but lived to be 8 after surgery to remove it.

    I feel for your daughter! Two post op surgery patients are too much to handle. Speedy recovery for all!

 How am I, you may wonder. Pretty good! I am still following the diet prescribed by the MDs and dietician and only adding a thing or two back in weekly. I have discovered a lot of other things about my food and myself. I don't need all the ........(insert something here). Just because the label states the whole can of tuna is one serving, doesn't mean I have to eat the whole can; 1/3 does nicely.  The slice of farmhouse bread, toasted, is just fine cut in half instead of using two slices.  Pickles taste the same even when the peels are removed. I am living without a lot of cheese, my previous staple. Living without second helpings as well.  Eventually I will be able to exchange all this 'white food' for higher fiber veggies and grains. The result is I've lost 11 pounds since the end of January. I don't feel deprived.  Huh.

 Life goes on. Ruth died on Thanksgiving morning and was buried a week later. Sad, but glad to have known her all those years. It is hard to see her house across the street and know it is now empty.  We had our family party last weekend. It changed drastically as the cabin was no longer well-kept thus not good for us. My sister in law and her husband held an "open house" at their new digs and we managed to squeeze in 25 of the 35 who were available! I was in a food coma for a day. Fun and just what I needed. Speaking of what we need, here's something to brighten your day. I saw something in my man, that twinkle in his eye, that sparked my creativity....Enjoy!
