Hello, peeps.
I've been in shutdown for a while. Nothing much and everything.
The current 'climate' has been most of my angst. I'm powerless to do anything about it except write my congressman and senator, who seem to be hog-tied. I defiantly check my retirement funds and question the possibility of resuming mattress storage of said funds.
Back to the Future. The unelected second in command has possibly ensnared every iota of data on every person and project in the USA and it is now at his disposal. The elected in command looks as though he's attempting to start power grabs of other counties and remove us from all things stabile. Any moment I expect to see camps of youths starting up across the country in support of die fuhrer.
I almost expect a knock at my door after I post.
Sigh.
Drugs hit my extended family this week in a hard way. A beautiful woman, so beautiful she was on a TV show about models, friend with my child for 20+ years got in trouble. She'd spent many happy moments in my house. Mother of 5, divorced, and in a second marriage she said several years ago was the best thing that happened. She and her man are now in jail on felony charges including drugs, guns and other things. This stuff takes you down hard. I told my daughter I can't wear other people's problems like a coat, but this one is hard to take off.
Now, happy stuff.
We 'watch' the grands several evenings a week while things happen with sports and DD1's evening hours at the gym. She's a Pilates instructor. My teen grandson is becoming such a fun young adult. Polite without being asked, engaging and an all-around joy to be around. I don't have to deal with all the other stuff! The joy of being a grandparent.
The 11 1/2 year old is a clown who is interested in cooking. Real interested. It's fun to work with him. He's helped me for years when I make bread products but still hasn't mastered egg cracking.
Little Miss is such a chatterbox that I wish I had that invisible zipper we pretend to use when miming a 'shut up'. She'll be 9 next month.
All three have musical inclinations, like the rest of our family, and we've attended all kinds of concerts. We also are required by them to listen to them practice when we are at the house. The older two have trombone and sax. Little Miss picked up percussion! Joy.
I'm planning more vacations, maybe two this year to cross off multiple states.
I don't have a single picture to post.
Love to all.
LOL! Not a single picture to post... and with grandkids and granddogs in your life, too. Believe me, I do understand. When you're living and experiencing, sometimes the photos just don't happen.
ReplyDeleteOoh, looking forward to hearing about the trip planning.
So sorry about your personal connection with the "other side" of the legal system, via a daughter's friend. I think I was in my 30's or 40's when it dawned on me that I personally was acquainted with two people involved in homicides. One went to jail, the other turned the weapon on himself. It led to my belief that when pushed to the brink we are all capable of horrific acts. As my son says about suicide, "at the time it seemed to that person that this is the only solution".
Wishing you peace as you work through the emotions!
Thanks. The story continues to unfold with unbelievable issues. So sad.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly believe Little Miss is 9?!?!?! Makes me sound O*L*D, but I remember her precious baby pictures...
