I'm a bit sheepish as I haven't posted the results of my new carpeting and painting. I was darned tired!

I was so worn out I lost my mind. Well, actually, I only lost: my house keys; left them on the counter for the first time ever but luckily DH had his own set on him.  Car keys, ditto with first time; found them in the hamper after 3 days. A bag with 2 sweet onions I bought at the store on Wednesday. They are on the bill but not in my house. Not in my car either!

I also forgot to take all my medication in the morning two days in a row. That's NOT a good thing.

The last time I had issues like this was when DH was so ill. Tells you how hard I was working. On top of everything else, DH DID get ill last week which is maybe why my mind was elsewhere. We are all on the way to recovery, sort of. While putting odds and ends back in place I dropped an old-fashioned, teacher's stapler on my foot; two bruised toes and a bit more. Last night the screen door beat me to the trim and closed on my middle finger. I've a purple fingertip, slightly purple nail bed and the ability to claim it's my smashed finger, not my 'Jersey salute when I hold up my hand!

Here's the before, It's not dirty (except on the right in front of where the couch sat) but loved.

Here's the after

LOL, looks the same, but different! I think the paint color is more of a change.

Today is a rest day, may be the next 3 or 4.

  1. YIKES! Lots of mysteriously disappearing items! Have that when I have purchases something from the grocery store and . . . . not there when you unpack @ home. I do like self-checkout. I always double-check my cart to make sure I’ve bagged everything.

Love the paint color and the carpeting. Nice job! I BET you were tired after all that work.

Wow . . . hurt tootsies and finger! Take care of you! OY

    1. Thanks! Day one of doing nothing made a big difference. Perhaps I'm not as good at multi-tasking as I used to be, LOL!

  2. I like how the paint color "warms up" the space! And I'm glad your DH was there to help you recover your "brains" that are held in keys. Between physical labor, worrinjury y, and illness, no WONDER you needed some recovery time!

Bad door! And fortunately, you haven't lost the sense of humor. And in New Jersey... well, as you said... salute! LOL.

Hope the week moves on more smoothly, and the recovery continues well.

    1. Already my finger is 'type-able' and I don't think I'll lose my nail. I took a nap after being at the gym yesterday, another sign life is changing and I should go with the flow.

  3. I am always surprised at how large rooms appear with all of the furniture out. The room now looks cozy and warm. Good job! By the way, we have the same interior doors.

Stress causes a host of problems as I well know. Hopefully this is behind me now and you can rest your mangled body and mind some. Hugs.

    1. Anytime I empty a room, I'm tempted to put less back. Then I shove it all exactly where it was. I'm not one to rearrange the furniture; what works...works!

    2. Looks great to me. I have rarely changed the furniture location. My house is packed to the gills! I have too many things I like and want to keep. Trying to do better with it though.

  4. Looks great! My (figurative) hat is off to you; perhaps I'll have time for a little decluttering/redecorating once I get Mom settled into her new place...
